Penneys is on an absolute roll right now! I literally never use pencils but how could I not buy these. There’s 10 in the pack. 5 different kinds in 4 different colours. I can’t remember the price but I know they were really really cheap.

The 5 different slogans say:

  • I’m super busy
  • I love Monday
  • Is it Friday yet?
  • Working hard
  • The real boss

I have had to ban myself from even looking in the homeware section because I do not need more candles/lights/picture frames/ring plates etc…

What great deals have you found in Penneys/Primark?

I’m not sure the colour of these brushes is coming up as nice in this photo as they are in real life. They’re so pretty that I was not leaving without them. They were €8 and they’re from Penneys (Primark if you’re outside Ireland).

Now I’m not saying much for how good they’ll be as brushes because I haven’t used them yet but I’ll give them a go this weekend and the seem nice and soft so far.

They even come with this explanation for each brush and how to use them.

Has anyone else tried them?

How pretty is this little picnic basket I found in Tiger today?

Who doesn’t love a picnic & they’re immediately better with a real life picnic basket. The lid opens on both sides and it has more than enough space for lunch for 2 or 3 people. I think it was a steal at €15.

Now…all I need is the sun to come out next weekend!

Keep it Simple Canvas

Love Foil Canvas

I found these wall canvases in Penneys for an absolute steal. I’ve been looking for the ‘Keep it Simple’ one for quite a while after I saw it on Primark’s Instagram feed. It was €8 and is now sitting with my ampersand on an IKEA shelf above my bed. The ‘Love’ one was €4. I’ve added it to my photo wall (also in my bedroom). When it comes to home decor I can’t think of a better colour scheme than black, white and gold.

The home department of Penneys (Primark) is on fire right now. I’m so happy with the things I managed to pick up this week. At the minute my bedroom is white with a bright yellow Billy bookcase from IKEA (which they no longer stock) and a turquoise bedside table (which you can find here) so I was delighted to find the photo frame with grey and turquoise in it. I plan to paint one of the white frames yellow so I’ll share it here when I do. The grey and white cushion with yellow writing matches perfectly too. Finally, I’m excited about the weekly planner and I cant wait to use it in my craft room. Lord knows I need to be more organised so I’m hoping a planner will help. I’m pretty excited about some of the stuff coming up from Penneys.

Phone case

A while ago I started a new mini series called look what I found and this week I want to share my new iPhone 6 Plus case. I bought it from Paperchase and it combines my favourite colours. I love anything black & white and I always love love love all things yellow.

It’s a little more expensive than what I would usually pay for a phone case (I’m normally a Penneys kinda girl) but it was totally worth it. If you would like to buy it, check it out here.

I’m thinking of starting a kind of mini-series of posts about things I find that are interesting or make me smile or when I’ve grabbed a great bargain, etc. I had to think twice about this because I don’t want it to come across like you need to be spending money and buying new things in order to be happy or fulfilled. We can very easily become obsessed with money and I’ll put my hands up and say, because I don’t earn money all year round, it can affect my mood at the times of the year when I struggle financially. That being said, the purchases I share here won’t very often be the kind that break the bank. Some of the things will be old treasures resurrected and some will cost nothing at all. So here goes….

Look what I found this week…..

1. A mason jar glass with a handle for €4.50. It’s a little steep for one glass but I have been looking for one for quite a while and although I could buy 1 online easily, it wouldn’t be worth paying the postage and packaging. “Did my diet coke taste better out of it?” you ask. Obviously!

2. Thickers. And lots of them. Up to this point, I’ve found 1 shop in Ireland so far that sells Thickers, so if I want to buy them I have to order them online from the UK or the US. I don’t think I’ve ever found them for less than €5 and then I have to pay postage and packaging on top of that. On Friday I was walking through an Irish bargain shop called Mr. Price (I suppose you could kind of compare it to a B&M or Wilkinson’s in the UK or a really tiny, not nearly as awesome Target in the US) and what did I see right there in the arts and craft aisle – Thickers!!!! On top of that, they were only €1.49 each. They had 10 different types and needless to say I bought them all…twice!

Did you find anything great this week?

purchases

(Okay okay, none of them are plastic…)

I found a shop called Cotton On, which I assume is an american brand, in one of the malls in Dubai. I went in looking for something completely different (It’s a clothes shop) but I stumbled upon a section with Typo products (another america brand, I think).

I got all four items for €20 so I reckon it was a bargain. I don’t need any of this stuff but I’m thrilled with them all. The ‘Love is the New Black’ sign is actually a paper tablet cover. I’ll be using it on the wall. It cost €4. The Eiffel Tower  scissors, which I’m extremely excited about, was the most expensive item at €9. I love all things ombre and I’ve also got a thing for anything I cant write in so the notebook was a must at €4. The wooden @ sign was the biggest bargain of all at €3 and will go perfectly in the bedroom. I’m not sure if I’ll hang it on the wall yet.

Anyway, they’re my purchases for the week. Dane also bought me LOADS of scrap-booking stuff for Valentine’s Day but the less said about that the better. It is not a cheap hobby.

Oops. I’ve since learned both Cotton On and Typo are in fact Australian brands. Thanks Nikki. Keep up the good work Australia.
