Okay so I know I’m kind of late to the party but I’ve finally come around to the idea of Project Life. When I noticed it during the Summer on Instagram and the various blogs I follow I knew it was right up my street. I really love the idea of scrap-booking and I’m not just making excuses but a lot of work goes into it so Project Life seems perfect for me. I put in a special request for a project life album and starter kit for my birthday in August and I had every intention of mixing it up a bit and completing an album from birthday to birthday. Then I completely bottled out. I wasn’t happy with the picture quality of my printer, I felt I didn’t have enough materials, blah blah blah. I printed some pictured and started half-heartedly but it didn’t feel right. I decided to wait and I’m glad I did because when shopping in Cork with my Dad earlier this month we found a craft shop that sells Project Life materials. Needless to say, I got lots more PL products for Christmas.

Now I’m prepared and ready to go. I also received this perfect Ikea trolley as a Christmas present (Spoiled much?!) so I’m going to use it to store any materials I might use for this years project. That way I can move it from my craft room into my bedroom if needs be. I have also completed my cover page and plan to add some photos from New Years Eve.

Finally, I’d like to point out that I enjoy organising craft materials as much as I enjoy crafting and scrap-booking so I’ve mixed all of my PL kits together in some kitchen drawer organisers. They look great and take up a lot less space than the boxes the kits come in but it also means I’m not going to be able to differentiate from kit to kit. The kits I’ll be using this year are;  Midnight Edition Core Kit, Blush Core Kit, Sunshine Edition Core Kit, by Elsie and Emma at A Beautiful Mess and Polka Dot Party Mini Kit by Elizabeth Kartchner at Dear Lizzie so it will be one of those kits at any time and I’ll be updating my PL progress here monthly.

I’d love to hear other people’s Project Life stories. Does anyone have any tips?

I absolutely love December. I usually refuse to engage with the idea of Christmas before December, as it ruins it for me if it goes on too long. I’m secretly envious of the people who have all of their presents wrapped and ready to go before December starts, but I also think I would feel cheated out of the atmosphere if I was that prepared. I’ve started shopping but I’ve quite a way to go. I though I’d share my plans for this festive month.

I plan to (note I’m not making any promises):

1. Wish my Mam a very big happy birthday tomorrow.
2. Do a bit of a clear out and get rid of some old unused things before I add any Christmas gifts I receive.
3. Take a trip to Cork for the third instalment of my evil wicked step mother’s 60th Birthday, hosted by The Lord Mayor of Cork, no less. That evil wicked bit was a joke…kinda! 😉
4. Get lots of work done to wrap up 2013 and get 2014 off to a good start.
5. Buy the rest of my Christmas presents.
6. Share some hints and tips for what I want for Christmas (I know they’ll be much appreciated).
7. Welcome Dane home for over 2 weeks!!! Kind of excited!
8. Finish up work stress free with the first week in January prepared and ready to go.
9. Get Christmas nails done. I’m already thinking red & gold.
10. Have an amazing Kris Kindle night with my girls. I see Christmas hats and plenty of cocktails.
11. Wrap presents, eat chocolate and generally enjoy the festive season…oh and relax a little.

What are your plans for December?
